The Wedding of

Karen + Duncan

20 May 2016

What a lovely start to the day, the sun shining and that initial feeling that summer’s on its way.  I met Ryan at the train station and we headed for the motorway – Canterbury here we come! Returning to the beautifully sculptured gardens, cosy interior and remarkably well run venue that is the Old Kent Barn. Preparations were well underway for todays lovey couple Karen and Duncan. The sun was beaming down and the chairs were being set, ready for our first outdoor ceremony of the year!

More than equipped the venue offers a fantastic dressing room in the new barn for the bridal party and accommodation in the old barn for the groom. The distance between the two is great for ease of access to both the lovely ladies and the gents. Today we working alongside photographer James Richard. A lovely chap who I’m sure will produce some magnificent photographs.

As the ceremony approached and the butterflies increased we were excited to see this wonderful duo tie the knot. I have to say that this wedding was by far one of the most emotional and sweetest events I have ever witnessed. From the moment the doors opened a silhouette of Karen’s stunning figure in her gorgeous dress stood as she prepared to take her first steps along the aisle in the arm of her sister. As the couple met underneath the gazebo among their friends and family they hugged, took a second, looked into one another’s eyes and began the ceremony. There was no tension, no rigidness as they nervously stood, it was of pure intimacy almost as if it were just them.

The emotions were certainly running high and the speeches were no means about to change this. What a great collection of speeches that got everyone in tears of laughter and happiness as they spoke of Karen and Duncan’s journey. The most evident thing was the importance of love and family. The support and bond between these twos friends and families was remarkable.

Thank you for such a great day, you were both so warm and lovely and a pleasure to be around.  Ryan and I wish you all the love and happiness in your new lives together.

PS… We hope you have the Kleenex ready whilst watching your Trailer. xxx
