There was a real family energy to Amie and Tony’s celebration at The Orangery, with the day moving between calm moments, Greek tradition and a packed dance floor later on. A July wedding suited the venue well, especially with the possibility of an outdoor ceremony by the gazebo across the bridge. It felt personal without being overdone, with the focus always landing back on the people around them.
Morning
The morning began at the hotel in Maidstone, where both sides of the wedding party were getting ready under the same roof. Tony headed off for The Orangery before midday, while Amie had time with her bridal party before leaving with her father. One of the quieter moments we were there to catch was her father’s first look, just before they set off for the ceremony.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at The Orangery, with guests arriving ahead of Amie making her entrance in the early afternoon. The venue’s gardens and the bridge gave the day a strong sense of place, especially with the outdoor gazebo planned if the weather held. It was the kind of setting that let the ceremony feel open, relaxed and close to everyone watching.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Before the wedding breakfast, the speeches brought the room together properly. Amie’s father, Tony and the best men all spoke, giving the afternoon a good mix of family pride, humour and stories from different parts of their lives. It gave the film plenty of natural audio to carry the story beyond the visuals.
Evening
The evening moved straight from the cake cutting into the first dance, beginning with Amie and her father before Tony joined her on the floor. After that, the Greek dances brought a completely different energy, with separate ladies’ and men’s dances followed by the traditional money dance. It was a lively, distinctive way to bring everyone into the celebration and gave the film a strong finish.
