Lucy + Ryan

22nd December 2017Tewinbury Farm

Just before the ceremony, Ryan and his groomsmen were getting ready in the flat directly opposite St Helen’s Church, close enough for the church to feel part of the morning. Lucy and Ryan celebrated their winter wedding at Tythe Barn, Tewinbury Farm, after a December church ceremony in Wheathampstead.

Morning

The filming began with Ryan and the groomsmen at the flat on the high street, just across from the church. With Lucy getting ready separately from earlier in the morning, the final stretch before the ceremony had its own split focus: one side of the story with the bridal party, the other with Ryan preparing within sight of where they were about to marry.

Ceremony

St Helen’s Church brought everyone together for the 1.30pm ceremony. Ryan arrived ahead of Lucy, and the service gave the film its centre point before everyone travelled on to Tewinbury Farm for the reception.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

At Tythe Barn, the reception moved into the greeting line and wedding breakfast in the late afternoon. The speeches came before the meal, with Lucy’s father, Ryan and the best man each adding their part to the film through the words they shared in the room.

Evening

The evening moved into the cake cutting at 8pm, followed soon after by Lucy and Ryan’s first dance. We stayed through the first dance and the next songs, capturing the point where the formal parts of the day gave way to the dance floor.
