The Wedding of

Kelly + Warren

14 October 2015

The morning of Kelly and Warren’s wedding day had finally arrived. A Monday wedding, no ordinary day however and undoubtedly not your typical Monday morning. In fact, in comparison to the week prior stuck at my office desk with weekend blues, today was going to be that of the complete opposite.

I had returned to my parent’s house in Minster, Kent for the week so Ryan and I met locally and made our short journey to Kemsley, Sittingbourne. Once we had arrived and located the house with equipment in hand we headed on in.

In the corner of the room there Kelly was as she sat having her makeup applied. Introductions were complete and it turned out, being the small world that we live in, many mutual friends were listed. Familiar face James Heffernan our friend and photographer of Funky Pixel was working alongside us today and I knew this couple were in for a real treat with their photos.

Kelly was great and completely relaxed and excited about the day ahead. Originally the ceremony was planned to be set outside. The weather however had other ideas and decided to downpour throughout the entire day. Kelly was so laid back and approached it with an “it is what it is” attitude even though she had visuals of the sun beaming down and a summer wedding day. It was such a shame that plans had to be changed but the great thing about their choice of venue, Mountains Country House, is that they’re so accommodating and have inside facilities for a stunning inside ceremony. One of our all-time favourites, the venue is intimate and personal making it completely exclusive to the couple and their guests.

The bridal preparations were well underway and with makeup applied, dresses nearly on and cars rearranged in the driveway it was time for us to vacate. Umbrellas up, equipment in hand we loaded the car and drove along the motorway toward the venue. After successfully arriving and unloading the vehicle we met Warren who was making the finishing touches around the building. In the company of his best men, double trouble in speech prospect, the men arranged, rearranged, adjusted and completed chair and seating plans until almost the final moments before the ceremony was to begin. It was actually Kelly who was completely relaxed in the situation and more than happy to go with the flow and that she did :) …

We were tight for space inside but this added to the intimacy between friends and family. The music began and in entered Kelly’s bridesmaids looking fabulous and gorgeously pretty in their red dresses. It was of course Kelly that stole the show in her amazing white wedding dress. She walked along that aisle gracing the guests, and Warren especially with pure beauty. The couple standing side by side were so cute that I almost forgot to refocus and go about my actual work in manning the camera.

With the weather completely and utterly on mission downpour the guests mooched around the building drinking beverages and enjoying the company of family and friends. It really was a lovely atmosphere throughout the day and we were excited for the evening ahead.

First up, speeches and although incredibly scary speaking in front of a large group of people Kelly’s father, Warren and the two best men did a grand job. I’m sure Kelly was certainly happy with the kind words shared although Warren did receive a grilling from his best men but of course duty calls. Glasses were charged, toasts were made and Jäger bombs were shot.

Kelly and Warren certainly treated their guests on their special day and when the evening celebrations started there was lots to keep guests entertained. Our very good friend Jenell McKinnell of ‘CheeseBox’ arrived with her photo booth which was lots and lots of fun. Guests dressed up in funny masks and props, had their photo taken and received a key ring to remind them of this brilliant day.

Another special mention to Julie and Pauline of ‘De-Lights’ who provided some excellent chocolate treats and lighting. Ryan and I had never seen such a wonderful creation. Known as chocolate kebabs we just had to try one. A pancake mixed with chocolate, marshmallows, banana, strawberries and much much more was the perfect ending to our day.

Ryan and I would like to wish you all the happiness in your newly wedded lives together. We had a brilliant day and would like to thank you for having us.
