Moments to Treasure: Lucy & Jack at Cooling Castle Barn
Some wedding days just flow beautifully – and Lucy & Jack’s was one of those rare occasions where everything came together with ease and joy. From the very first email to the final delivery of their film, working with these two was a genuine pleasure.
Lucy first found us at a Cooling Castle Barn open day, and it was clear from the start that she and Jack wanted a wedding film that would feel natural, relaxed, and full of laughter. Their plans were set for an April Thursday, with a full day of coverage – from the early morning prep right through to the evening’s last dance.
Planning with Heart
The lead-up to the big day was as smooth as could be. Lucy was always quick to reply, happy to confirm details, and even made sure both videographers were looked after with a hot meal. We worked together on timing, coverage, and a few extra touches – including a second USB, a DVD, and a hard drive with all the raw footage for those behind-the-scenes moments.
Working with Friends
One of the highlights of the day was teaming up with Steve Barber on photography. Steve’s a familiar face at Cooling Castle Barn and a good old friend – working alongside him always makes the day run even smoother. The whole creative team was in sync from start to finish, capturing every moment as it unfolded.
The Big Day at Cooling Castle Barn
Lucy started her morning bright and early at Cooling Castle Barn, while Jack arrived just before the ceremony. The day was classic spring – a little bit of everything, but always full of smiles. The ceremony was held indoors, followed by heartfelt speeches from the groom, mother of the bride, and best man before everyone sat down to a wedding breakfast.
As the evening rolled in, the Silver Service Singers got everyone in the party mood. Cake cutting and two special first dances – one for Lucy & Jack, another for Lucy and her mum – rounded out a day packed with memories. Throughout it all, we made sure to capture every genuine laugh, every happy tear, and all those little moments that make a wedding truly personal.
Reliving Every Detail
Lucy & Jack chose a cinematic trailer, a full documentary edit, and an Instagram reel to share with friends and family. For those who love to see it all, they also requested the raw footage – the perfect way to relive every second, from start to finish.
Everything was delivered on USB and DVD, carefully packaged and ready for many future movie nights.
Looking Back
Some weddings are all about big gestures, but Lucy & Jack’s was a celebration of the little things – thoughtfulness, laughter, and the joy of being surrounded by the people who matter most. It was a privilege to be part of their story and to work alongside friends like Steve to help them relive it for years to come.
