Late September gave Lara and Will’s wedding at Cooling Castle Barn that early autumn feeling, with the day settling into the old brick, timber and courtyard spaces of the venue. Everything happened in one place, which meant the morning could build naturally towards the ceremony without travel pulling everyone away from the moment.
Morning
Lara got ready in the Moat House dressing room while Will spent the morning in the lounge at Cooling Castle Barn. With both of them already at the venue, there was time to capture the details, the last checks and the quieter moments before guests began arriving for the afternoon ceremony.
Ceremony
Their ceremony took place indoors at Cooling Castle Barn at 2pm, after a morning of preparations in different parts of the venue. It had that close, gathered feel you get when everyone has already arrived, settled in and is waiting for the doors to open.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Speeches came before the wedding breakfast, starting at 4.30pm, which gave the reception a proper lift before everyone sat down to eat. Lara and Will had a full line-up of speakers, with words from the bride’s father, the groom, the bride, the wedding party and the best man, giving the film plenty of voices and personal moments to carry through the story.
Evening
The evening moved quickly from the cake cutting at 8pm into the first dance just after, with a friend singing and playing guitar for Lara and Will’s song. After that, the dance floor opened straight away, giving the final part of the film a natural shift from the more formal moments of the day into everyone celebrating with them.
