Late April has a calm, clear feel at Cooling Castle Barn, with the old brick, timber and spring greenery doing a lot of the work without needing much fuss. For Alfie and Jodie, it gave the day a grounded countryside feel, with everyone gathering at the venue as the celebrations built through the afternoon and into the evening.
Morning
We joined Alfie and Jodie at Cooling Castle Barn late in the morning, with the day already beginning to take shape around the venue. Starting there meant the film could settle straight into the atmosphere of the barn, the guests arriving, and those small final moments before the ceremony.
Ceremony
The ceremony was the point where the pace of the day shifted, with everyone together in one place and the barn giving it that quiet, intimate feel Cooling does so well. We kept the filming unobtrusive, focusing on the reactions, the vows, and the natural movement of the room rather than making anything feel staged.
Evening
As the evening came in, the focus moved towards the last set of moments we wanted to capture before coverage ended. Jodie had mentioned the father and daughter dance ahead of the wedding, so we made sure the timing allowed for that part of the evening to be included without making the day feel rushed.
