The Wedding of

Angela + Ian

21 October 2015

I was really looking forward to this wedding! It was going to be a day shared with many of our friends and we couldn’t wait.

We originally met Ian a few years back when he was a DJ at one of the weddings we were filming. He spoke of his wedding day excitedly but with over a year to go until the big day it seemed like forever until it would arrive. Sure enough, Angela and Ian’s wedding day came around and with daily Facebook updates we all definitely knew about it ;)

Today was a slightly earlier start for me. We were heading towards Faversham so I left my house in Manor House, North London and journeyed to Sittingbourne train station where I met Ryan. Along the motorways with Radio One playing through the speakers we arrived at Judd’s Folly Hotel.

We met good friends James Heffernan and Sarah, todays photographers who we always enjoy working alongside and made our way to see the beautiful bride, Angela. The atmosphere in the room was of pure excitement and knowing this lovely couple prior to today made it even more exciting for us too.

Whilst Ryan captured the bridal preparations I gathered the equipment and got ready for the ceremony. The weather just about held out enough for the ceremony to be outside and with the beautiful flower decorations by Steph of ‘Belle Fleur Florists’ it was looking beautiful. Working in the wedding industry is great when you start to recognise suppliers who all come together to create amazing weddings for couples. Steph is one of those women who we always see working away creating some stunning work and it’s always a pleasure to have a little chat.

As always, the time was flying by and it was time for the arrival of the wonderful groom, Ian. It was so nice to see him dressed up so smartly and attending his own wedding rather than for work purposes. We had a nice little reunion and although slightly nervous, Ian was so excited and we couldn’t wait for him to see his beautiful bride walking along that aisle.

Meanwhile, Angela was just about to get into her dress by the help of Jen, the most incredible lady when it comes to wedding dresses! She knows everything and was a great help to Angela.

Guests started to take their seats and we were all ready and in position for the bridal party. From the moment the music began I was in perfect view of Ian and the rush of excitement and nervousness was completely and utterly upon him. The bridesmaids entered and accompanied by her father Angela walked along the aisle looking absolutely incredible. She really was a stunning vision and from the second Ian saw her, the tears rolled from his eyes. It was so emotional and such a joyous occasion to see two friends marrying one another.

We were also working alongside Matt Barker of ‘Mosh Motions’! We’ve spoken to Matt many time on Facebook, but finally today had the pleasure of meeting in person. It was a lot of fun watching Matt weave in between guests and getting them to sing and dance to Angela and Ian’s Marryoke. We are looking forward to watching the video but certainly note our little appearance in it that I’m very much hoping didn’t make the final cut.

It was time for the speeches and it was at this moment we began to gain an insight into the relationship between Ian and his father in law, Ed. The banter between these two was literally something else and we were all in a state of giggles and laughter throughout his speech. Who would have thought that the day Angela and Ian browsed through one another’s ‘Plenty of Fish’ accounts that it was Ed that had actually created Angela’s account. The speeches were great and extremely emotional. The love between Ian and his three children was remarkable and it was so lovely to witness such a big day of importance for them all.

A special mention to a very talented lady Sonia, who created an absolute masterpiece with the cake! The height, attention to detail and especially the smell were the most amazing things ever. I’m so sad we didn’t get to have a slice but I’m sure it was sensational and out of this world.

Angela and Ian, it was so nice to be a part of your day, we had a blast! You are both two very special people and if anyone deserves love and happiness, it’s definitely you. We hope you enjoy the video but make sure you get the Kleenex ready because I have a feeling there’ll be some tears or two.
