Spring at Upwaltham Barns gave Catherine and Richard’s celebration a calm, gathered feel, with everyone centred around the barns before the ceremony began. Their March 2017 wedding kept the focus on the moments that mattered most to them, the ceremony in the East Barn, speeches before dinner, and an evening celebration that moved back across the venue.
Morning
Catherine chose not to have bridal preparation filmed, so the coverage began later in the day. She was already at Upwaltham Barns ahead of the ceremony, keeping that time private so she could stay relaxed before walking into the East Barn.
Ceremony
Richard arrived at the venue at 1pm, giving the afternoon a clear pause before the ceremony began. At 2pm, Catherine and Richard were married in the East Barn at Upwaltham Barns, with the day then continuing across to the South Barn for the reception.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
The speeches took place before the food was served, which gave that part of the day its own proper moment before everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast. Catherine’s father, Richard, and the best man all spoke, bringing the reception into the next part of the afternoon before dinner began at 4.30pm.
Evening
By the evening, the celebration moved back between the barns, with the cake cutting in the East Barn at 7.45pm. Catherine and Richard then had their first dance in the South Barn at 8pm, giving the film a clear close with the start of the evening celebrations.
