Georgie + Matthew

29th October 2016Port Lympne Mansion

There was a clear autumn character to Georgie and Matthew’s celebration, with the day moving from a Folkestone church ceremony to the grandeur of Port Lympne Mansion. It felt formal where it needed to be, but still centred on family, speeches and the small dances that mattered to them. October suited the setting, giving the reception a rich, seasonal feel without taking attention away from the people in the room.

Morning

Georgie’s morning began in Newington, close to Folkestone, with bridal prep under way before the church service. The schedule gave everyone time to get ready properly before she left for Holy Trinity Church, where Matthew had arrived ahead of the ceremony.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church on Sandgate Road in Folkestone. Georgie arrived for the 1pm service, and the church gave the start of the day a calm, traditional setting before guests made their way on to the reception.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

At Port Lympne Mansion, the wedding breakfast began in the afternoon with speeches placed around the meal rather than all at once. Georgie’s father and Matthew spoke before food, with the best men taking their turn after dessert, which gave the reception a natural lift across the afternoon and early evening.

Evening

The evening moved into the cake cutting before Georgie and Matthew took to the floor for their first dance. After that, Georgie shared a dance with her dad, a detail they had especially wanted captured on film.
