Joanna’s morning began at Elvey Farm Oast, with the reception rooms waiting back at Elvey Farm for later in the day. It was an August 2018 summer wedding with a short journey across Kent to St Peter and St Paul Church in Charing. Joanna and David’s film kept close to those real movements, from the quiet prep at the farm through to the evening back in Pluckley.
Morning
Joanna got ready at Elvey Farm Oast before leaving for the church just after midday. The setting gave the morning a clear link to the reception that followed, so the film was able to return to the same place later with a different energy and a room full of guests.
Ceremony
David arrived at St Peter and St Paul Church in Charing before the ceremony, with Joanna making her entrance shortly afterwards. The service began at 12.30, giving the day its formal centre before everyone headed back to Elvey Farm in Pluckley for the reception.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
The wedding breakfast began in the afternoon at Elvey Farm, with speeches saved until after the food. Joanna’s father, her step father, the best man and David all spoke, which gave the film a strong run of voices and reactions to build into the story of the day.
Evening
The evening moved quickly into the cake cutting at 8pm, followed straight after by the first dance. Those two moments gave the reception a clear closing chapter on film, with guests gathered close and the focus firmly back on Joanna and David.
