For Kate and Matt, September at Odos Barn was about family, music and a few well-kept surprises. Their autumn wedding moved from the village church at Bilsington to the barn reception, with speeches, Kate’s song for Matt, and a brass section playing against a curtain of fairy lights later on.
Morning
Kate got ready at Willow Tree House in Rye before heading over to Bilsington for the ceremony. Matt arrived at the church ahead of the service, with time for guests to gather before Kate made her entrance.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St Peter and St Paul’s church in Bilsington. It gave the film a clear change of setting, from the quiet build-up beforehand to the moment Kate and Matt walked back out together as husband and wife.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Afterwards, everyone moved on to Odos Barn for the reception and wedding breakfast. The cake was cut before the meal, then the speeches followed, with Kate’s father, Matt and the best men all speaking before Kate surprised Matt by singing straight after.
Evening
The evening moved into the first dance, followed by a father and daughter dance. Later, the band began with their brass section set in front of a fairy light curtain, giving the final part of the film a strong live-music finish.
