There was a proper City feel to Katie and Tony’s winter wedding, with old London streets, church music and a restaurant reception at Hawksmoor Guildhall all sitting close together. Their December celebration moved from St Botolph without Bishopsgate to Hawksmoor Guildhall, keeping the day close, personal and full of atmosphere.
Morning
Katie spent the morning getting ready at Calvin Street, with hair and makeup beginning early and everyone ready by the early afternoon. By the time she left for the church, the day had already gathered pace, with the timings kept tight for the move across the City.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St Botolph without Bishopsgate, a church with real presence and a choir that was an important part of the service. After Katie and Tony came out of the church, there was confetti outside before the closest family stayed back for photographs inside.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
At Hawksmoor Guildhall, guests moved into the dining room before the meal so the speeches could take place first. Katie’s father, Tony and the best man all spoke before dinner, with everyone then settling into the wedding breakfast in that classic Hawksmoor setting.
Evening
The evening began with the cake cutting, followed soon after by Katie and Tony’s first dance. Family joined the dance floor afterwards, and the band kept the music upbeat so there was plenty of energy in the room before the night carried on.
