Luke and Katherine’s wedding at Millbridge Court was the perfect mix of heartfelt and hilarious – the kind of day where you’re wiping away a tear one minute and laughing out loud the next. It was warm, emotional, full of personality, and the speeches alone were an absolute highlight.
Morning
The day started at Millbridge Court with that calm-but-excited build-up that always happens when everything’s about to kick off. Katherine’s morning had a really lovely pace to it – those quieter moments that matter, surrounded by the people who know her best.
One of the most emotional moments of the whole day came before the ceremony – a first look with Katherine’s dad. It was one of those proper lump-in-the-throat moments, and you could feel how much it meant to them both.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place indoors at Millbridge Court, and from the second Katherine walked in, the reaction in the room said everything. The registrars were brilliant – warm, relaxed, and funny in exactly the right way, keeping everyone smiling while still making it feel properly meaningful.
Luke and Katherine said their vows, promised their lives to each other, and then exchanged rings with the kind of quiet emotion that always hits hard on film. And then the moment everyone was waiting for – they were officially announced as husband and wife, and the room just lifted.
Speeches
Gary – Father of the Bride
Gary absolutely smashed it. He had the room laughing early on, but he also delivered some really moving moments – especially when he spoke about people who couldn’t be there and those who were there in spirit. It was one of those speeches that had everything – warmth, emotion, proper pride, and loads of personality.
He spoke about how proud he is of Katherine – her determination, the setbacks she pushed through, and the work she does as a midwife, which got a big moment of appreciation from the room. It was also one of those speeches that kept surprising you – one second it’s heartfelt, the next you’re laughing at an AI joke or a story you didn’t see coming.
Luke – Groom
Luke’s speech was brilliant – honest, emotional, and really personal. He thanked everyone for being there, gave a shout-out to the venue team and suppliers, and then properly took a moment to thank the people who raised him and shaped him. There was a lovely section about his mum and dad, his sister, his stepdad, and the people close to him – the kind of speech where you could see how much he genuinely meant every word.
Then he spoke about Katherine – how they met back in 2014, how it started, and how quickly it became obvious it wasn’t just some “summer fling”. He talked about her work, her character, her kindness – and had everyone laughing with the little details too, including Katherine being emotional over basically anything vaguely cute.
It finished exactly as it should – a big toast to his wife, and one of those moments where you can feel the whole room backing the couple.
Callum – Best Man
Callum brought the energy. He told stories from childhood, their friendship, skating days, and Luke’s early love for film-making, reminding everyone just how long these two have been side by side. It was funny, hype, and properly wholesome – but underneath it all was a really genuine message about how proud he is of Luke, and how perfectly Katherine fits into that story.
He spoke about watching them both grow, not just individually but as a couple, and about how much they’ve built together over the years. It was one of those best man speeches that leaves you smiling from start to finish.
Evening
As the day moved into the evening, the vibe stayed exactly the same – relaxed, fun, and full of love. Millbridge Court is brilliant for that shift from day into party mode, and once the formalities were done, everyone just got stuck in and enjoyed it.
It was one of those weddings that felt like a proper celebration from start to finish – not forced, not overly staged, just real people having a great time and backing two people they clearly adore.
A Note from Me
Katherine and Luke, thank you so much for having me there to capture your day. Filming another wedding videographer’s wedding definitely adds a bit of pressure – especially when you know them well – but it was an absolute honour to do it for you both. Luke, being trusted to film your wedding really meant a lot, and I loved every minute of the day. Your ceremony was beautiful, your speeches were next level, and you’ve got such an incredible group of people around you. I hope your film brings all of that straight back every time you watch it.
