Spring at Harty Estate gave Katie and Paul’s wedding a calm, coastal feel, with the day centred around time together rather than a packed formal schedule. It was relaxed and personal, with an outdoor ceremony, canapes in place of a traditional wedding breakfast, and the evening building towards cake, dancing and fireworks.
Morning
Katie spent the morning at the venue, which meant the preparations had a settled feel without any rush between locations. Paul arrived later in the afternoon, so the build-up stayed focused around Harty Estate and the people gathering there for the ceremony.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place outside at Ferry House Inn on the Harty Estate, a proper spring setting with the marshland and open air around them. Katie and Paul kept the day simple and close to them, and that suited the setting well, with everyone gathered in one place for the vows.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Rather than a formal wedding breakfast, Katie and Paul chose canapes and evening food, which gave the reception a more relaxed shape. Around the cake cutting, Paul planned to say a few words, keeping the speeches low-key and personal rather than turning them into a big set piece.
Evening
Cake cutting led neatly into the first dance at 7pm, giving the evening a clear lift without feeling overly staged. Later on, fireworks were planned for 8.30pm, weather permitting, adding one last bit of drama to a spring wedding that had stayed very much on Katie and Paul’s terms.
