Sophie + Jonathan

2nd April 2022Braxted Park Witham

A live saxophone during reception drinks gave Sophie and Jonathan’s April celebration its own character early on. Everything took place at Braxted Park in Witham, with the preparations, ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party all centred on the estate. For a spring wedding, the day had a clear shape for the film: morning prep, a 2pm ceremony, speeches after dinner and music carrying into the evening.

Morning

Sophie spent the morning getting ready at Braxted Park, with preparations beginning early ahead of the ceremony. Jonathan arrived at the venue at midday, so the build-up moved naturally from prep into guests gathering for the afternoon. Having everything in one place helped keep the film grounded in the setting rather than jumping between locations.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place indoors at Braxted Park at 2pm. Sophie and Jonathan kept this part of the day centred on the venue, which gave the film a simple, focused transition from the morning into the formal part of the celebration. It was a clean point in the story before everyone moved into the reception.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

The wedding breakfast began at 4:15pm, followed by speeches after the meal. The bride’s father, Jonathan and the best man all spoke, giving us three different voices to work with in the film. Those speeches helped carry the story beyond the visuals, adding the personal detail that made the edit feel specific to Sophie and Jonathan.

Evening

The evening began with the cake cutting at 7:30pm before Sophie and Jonathan moved into their first dance. Sophie then shared a father and daughter dance, which gave the evening another clear emotional beat. With the band and live music continuing through the reception and meal, the party had plenty of energy to close the film.
