Charlotte + James

25th May 2025Cooling Castle Barn

Spring at Cooling Castle Barn gave Charlotte and James a calm, close-knit setting for their May wedding. With both preparations taking place at the venue, the day had a settled feel, with everyone already gathered before the ceremony began. It suited a celebration built around family, speeches, music and time together in one place.

Morning

Charlotte spent the morning in the bridal suite at Cooling Castle Barn, while James got ready later in the master suite with the bride’s father and his groomsman. Having both sides of the preparations at the venue kept everything grounded and unhurried, with the ceremony space never far away. It gave the film a clear sense of place before anyone walked down the aisle.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place indoors at Cooling Castle Barn at 2pm. James was already at the venue ahead of the ceremony, while Charlotte had been there since the morning, so the build-up felt contained within the same familiar surroundings. A string quartet played for the ceremony, adding a live, intimate feel to the vows.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

After the 4.30pm wedding breakfast, the speeches brought the reception into a more personal part of the day. The bride’s father, James, the maid of honour and the best man all spoke, giving the film plenty of real voices and reactions to carry the story. Those moments sat well after dinner, when everyone had settled into the room and the focus turned fully to the people closest to Charlotte and James.

Evening

The evening moved into the cake cutting before Charlotte and James took to the floor for their first dance at 8pm. Charlotte then shared a dance with her father, giving the reception another clear family moment after the speeches. It was a simple, heartfelt way to move from the formal parts of the day into the evening celebration.
