Colour flares during the reception drinks gave Holly and Liam’s film one of its clearest flashes of personality. Holly got ready at Cooling Castle Barn, keeping the morning close to the place where the ceremony and reception later took place. Liam arrived at the venue before midday, with the ceremony set for early afternoon and everyone already moving into the pace of the day.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at Cooling Castle Barn, with plans for it to be outside as long as the weather allowed. After Holly and Liam were married, there was a surprise arranged during the register signing, giving us a very specific moment to capture before guests moved into the drinks reception.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Speeches came before the wedding breakfast, which gave the room a big lift before everyone sat down to eat. Holly’s bridesmaid, the bride’s father, Liam, and the best men all spoke, bringing a mix of humour, family feeling, and the kind of reactions that work so well on film. During the meal, Holly and Liam also went round the tables during one song for a photograph with each group of guests.
Evening
The evening began with the cake cutting before Holly and Liam’s first dance to September by Earth, Wind and Fire, which quickly brought guests onto the dance floor. After that came a father and daughter dance with a surprise compilation, starting slow before changing pace. It gave the evening a real shift in energy and made the dance floor feel personal to them rather than just another part of the schedule.
