Kayleigh + Ben

17th April 2019The Barnyard

The Barnyard suited an April wedding with room for the day to breathe, from the early arrivals through to a packed dancefloor later on. Kayleigh and Ben kept the celebration relaxed, but there were some proper talking points built into the day. Spring gave everything a fresh feel without needing to overdo it.

Morning

Prep began at Moat House, with the morning centred on getting ready, final details and the usual calm-before-the-ceremony moments. Ben was due at the venue late morning, which gave us time to capture guests arriving and the ceremony space filling up before Kayleigh made her entrance.

Ceremony

The ceremony began at 1pm, with everyone gathered and ready before Kayleigh arrived. One detail no one missed was the rings being delivered by a bald eagle, kept as a surprise for most of the guests. It gave the ceremony a real point of difference without taking away from the vows themselves.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

The wedding breakfast started mid-afternoon, with speeches saved until after the meal. Kayleigh’s father, Ben and the best men all spoke, which gave the film a strong run of natural audio, reactions and little pauses between the bigger laughs.

Evening

Evening guests arrived from 6.30pm, bringing the room back up again after the meal and speeches. Instead of a traditional first dance for just the two of them, Kayleigh and Ben chose to get everyone straight onto the dancefloor. It made the evening feel less staged and more like a proper party.
