The Barnyard at a Glance
The Barnyard is a countryside wedding venue at Gore Farm in Upchurch, set within around 150 acres of orchards, woodland and rolling hills, with The Apple Barn, The Arboretum and capacity for celebrations up to around 300 guests. For couples searching for The Barnyard wedding videography, the strength of the venue is not just how it looks, but how naturally the day can move from preparations to ceremony, speeches and evening celebrations.
Getting Ready at The Barnyard
The Barnyard has a relaxed countryside feel that suits natural wedding mornings. The rural setting gives the film a sense of space early on, with orchards, gardens and barn textures helping the day feel personal rather than overly formal.
From a wedding videographer perspective, this matters because the best films are built from atmosphere as much as events. The build-up, small reactions and quiet conversations all help the final film feel true to the day.
Ceremony, Confetti and Drinks
Ceremony options include garden and gazebo-style settings as well as the converted barn spaces. The mix of rustic buildings and landscape gives couples flexibility, while guests can move naturally from vows into drinks and photographs.
These moments are often where a wedding video starts to find its pace. Guests relax, the couple can breathe again, and the real reactions begin to happen without being forced.
Wedding Breakfast and Speeches
The Apple Barn and Arboretum each bring a different feel to the wedding breakfast. The barn is warm and rustic, while The Arboretum gives a lighter, larger celebration space for bigger guest lists.
Evening Celebrations
Evenings at The Barnyard work well because the venue has proper party capacity without losing its countryside character. The barns, marquee, gardens and surrounding landscape give the film a good range of textures from first dance onwards.

There truly are not enough words to describe how incredible Ryan and Talking Fly are! For two people who aren't the most comfortable on camera Ryan made us both feel so comfortable through the entire day. We have just received the trailer and full film and we are both absolutely blown away! It is absolutely unreal. Ryan captured our day better than we could have ever imagined. The way he edited my morning video together with the wedding video was seamless and it just kept getting better and better. Ryan, thank you so much for what you did for us and for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. We could not have asked for more. For anyone reading this wondering whether to book Talking Fly or not, please do not hesitate, just book them! Thanks again!
Ryan at Talking Fly was recommended to us by family members who used him previously for their weddings - after seeing how wonderful the videos came out we had no doubts on whether to use him for our wedding in September. The booking process was so easy and professional, and in the run up to the wedding he regularly would check back in to confirm timings etc, and really made the planning process much easier and stress-free. Our honest review of Ryan is that he is truly the best in the business. On the day, he was so warm, fun and easy going! We have never been in front of a camera so wasn't sure on how we would feel, but after 5 minutes you either didn't know he was there, or felt as though you were sharing the space with a friend. He took all our ideas on board and the videos came out better than expected. We booked for a: 1 minute Instagram reel, 3 minute video, then a 1.5 hour documentary. We are so pleased we picked this package as we now get to watch back so many elements of the day, and get to relive them whenever we want. Everything about the video is perfect. The quality of it is second to none and we would whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone. Thank you again, Alice & Chay xxx
Our wedding video is everything we had dreamed of having! Ryan and his colleague captured every moment of our day which we got to re-live all over again. Ryan helped us feel so comfortable in front of the camera during our wedding day. But not only being amazing on the day, all the in between Ryan always kept us updated before and after the wedding, the editing process to the full edit we were kept in the loop throughout. Ryan is fantastic and i would recommend him to everyone. We can’t wait to show everyone our videos and re watch them every year! Thank you so much Ryan! From Amy and Joe xx
