Lauren & Rory at Cooling Castle Barn
The morning of Rory & Lauren’s wedding set the tone for everything that followed – full of emotion, laughter, and little moments that meant the world. Both exchanged cards and gifts before the ceremony, and Lauren was especially teary reading Rory’s words. As she got into her dress, the nerves bubbled over into happy tears, so she put on “Pink Pony Club” to lift the mood – soon the room was filled with laughter and excitement, ready for the celebrations ahead.
The Ceremony
As guests gathered, there was a quiet buzz of excitement. Lauren arrived with her bridal party, looking every bit the Disney princess her mum later described. The ceremony itself was a lovely blend of tradition and personality – from the registrar’s warm welcome to the little moments of laughter and nerves as vows and rings were exchanged.
There was a beautiful reading about love being found in the everyday – the small gestures, the unspoken support, and the balance of spreadsheets and spontaneity. It set the tone perfectly for a couple who clearly bring out the best in each other.
“It’s the unique alchemy of two people who are opposite in all the best ways. I know that love is about passion, but it’s also about compassion. It is cherishing your partner while never forgetting to cherish yourself.”
With vows exchanged and a kiss to seal the deal, Rory and Lauren became husband and wife – greeted by cheers and applause from everyone there.
Family & Speeches
The Mother of the Bride
Lauren’s mum, Diane, gave a speech that was equal parts funny and moving. She spoke about Lauren’s assertiveness and confidence, her childhood love of Disney princesses, and even a few stories about emergency chest compressions on her baby brother. She also shared the story of Lauren and Rory building a bouquet of Lego flowers together – hundreds of pieces, assembled over a few evenings, now taking pride of place on their dining table. Pollen free, but more importantly, beautiful and everlasting – and the perfect metaphor for their marriage.
The Groom
Rory’s speech was full of gratitude – for friends, family, and especially for Lauren. He thanked his best man and groomsmen for their support (and for keeping the stag do stories to a minimum), and praised the bridesmaids for being there for Lauren through every step of planning. There was a special thank you to both families for their love and support, and a heartfelt tribute to Lauren herself – her organisation, her joy for life, and the way she loves so openly and honestly.
“Lauren, you’re my best friend, my partner, the love of my life, and in every sense, my other half. This is just the beginning of what I know will be the most incredible adventure together, and I’m so grateful to share it with you.”
The Best Man
Kieran, Rory’s brother, delivered a best man speech that had the room laughing and reminiscing. He shared stories from their childhood, from pub tip jars and dog treat challenges to late-night PlayStation sessions and more than a few broken controllers. Kieran spoke honestly about how Lauren has helped shape Rory into the man he is today – and about how grateful he is for the adventures, the support, and the brotherhood they share. He wrapped up with a heartfelt toast to the new Mr. and Mrs. Linton.
The Rest of the Day
With the formalities over, the rest of the day was all about celebrating. There was plenty of hugs and laughter, and a packed dance floor as the evening went on. Friends and family raised their glasses to Rory and Lauren – wishing them a future full of happiness, adventure, and the kind of love that only grows stronger with time.
Looking Back
Rory & Lauren’s wedding was a reminder that the best days are built on real moments – the stories, the laughter, and the people who matter most. It was a privilege to capture it all and help them relive the day for years to come.
