Cooling Castle Barn has a way of making an autumn wedding feel close and atmospheric, with the ceremony, reception and evening all held within the same historic setting. Nikki and Martin celebrated there in November 2018, keeping everything at the venue so the day could move naturally between each part without any travel in between.
Morning
Nikki spent the morning at Cooling Castle Barn, already at the venue well ahead of the ceremony. Martin arrived later in the day, giving everyone time to settle into the barn before guests gathered for the 2pm ceremony.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at Cooling Castle Barn, with Nikki and Martin saying their vows in front of their guests during the early afternoon. Because the celebrations stayed in one place, the shift from ceremony to reception felt calm and straightforward, with everyone able to stay close to the heart of the venue.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
The speeches came before the wedding breakfast, which gave the reception a clear emotional lift before everyone sat down to eat. Nikki, Martin and the best men all spoke, bringing a personal feel to that part of the day before the meal began at 4.30pm.
Evening
As the evening settled in, Nikki and Martin cut the cake before the dance floor became the focus later on. Their first dance began with the two of them together, followed by a second dance where guests joined them, which gave the film a natural move from a quiet moment into the party.
