Ayo + Yonike

5th August 2017Abbey Manor

There was a real London pace to Ayo and Yonike’s summer wedding, with each part of the celebration tied to a different place before everyone came together at Abbey Manor. The film carried that movement: morning preparations, a Willesden ceremony, portraits at Roundwood Park and an evening reception that kept the focus firmly on the people around them.

Morning

The morning began with a short groom prep session with Ayo and the groomsmen, keeping things simple with details like ties and cufflinks before the cameras moved on. Yonike got ready at the Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood, with enough time built in for the final preparations before leaving for the ceremony.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in Willesden, with Ayo arriving ahead of Yonike before the service began in the early afternoon. After the ceremony, the group headed to Roundwood Park for photographs, giving the film a change of setting before the reception.

Speeches and Wedding Breakfast

Abbey Manor hosted the wedding breakfast, with speeches placed between courses rather than saved until the end of the meal. The best men, maid of honour and chief bridesmaid all spoke, giving that part of the film several different voices and reactions to cut between.

Evening

The evening at Abbey Manor moved into the familiar moments that bring everyone back together: cake cutting first, then the first dance soon after. By that point the film had travelled through the busy morning, the ceremony, park portraits and speeches, so the evening felt like a clear closing chapter to Ayo and Yonike’s celebration.
