High summer gave Katy and Greg’s day at Mount Ephraim Gardens a bright, open feel. June suited the gardens, with the ceremony, drinks reception and portraits all centred around the venue’s grounds. It was a day built around family, relaxed guest moments and plenty of time outdoors.
Morning
The morning began at Mount Ephraim Gardens, where bridal prep was already well underway before we arrived. Hair and make-up were due to be finished by late morning, giving time for details, the setting and the final preparations before the ceremony. Greg arrived around midday, with guests gathering and the last pre-ceremony moments taking shape around the venue.
Ceremony
Katy and Greg’s ceremony took place at Mount Ephraim Gardens at 1pm. Afterwards, guests moved straight into congratulations, candid moments and group photographs before the drinks reception. The portraits of Katy and Greg followed later in the afternoon, using the gardens as the backdrop without pulling them away from the day for too long.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
Guests were seated in the afternoon, with the wedding breakfast served at 3.30pm. The speeches came between the main course and dessert, led by Greg, the bride’s father and the best men. It gave the film a strong run of real voices and reactions, which always helps bring the reception back to life on screen.
Evening
Evening guests arrived from 7pm, bringing a change of pace as the day moved towards the dance floor. Katy and Greg had their first dance at 7.30pm, followed by candid filming with everyone joining in around them. We stayed until 8pm, capturing the early evening atmosphere as the celebration carried on.
