Relaxed, story-led wedding films across Essex

From a team that has been filming Essex weddings for over a decade.

Essex weddings have a particular energy to them. The county has one of the strongest barn and country estate scenes in the country, some genuinely beautiful waterside settings out towards Maldon and the Blackwater, and couples who want the day to feel like a proper celebration rather than a formal production.

That suits the way we film. We are a Kent-based wedding film team and Essex has been one of our regular coverage areas for years, from Gaynes Park near Epping across to Vaulty Manor on the Maldon side. The films further down this page were all made at Essex venues.

Getting Married in Essex

Essex covers a lot of ground, and the wedding scene changes with it. Towards Epping and the Rodings you get converted barns and country houses within easy reach of London. Further east, around Maldon and the Blackwater, the settings open out and start to feel properly coastal.

It means couples can pick a day that genuinely reflects them, whether that is a grand hall like Gosfield or Leez Priory, a relaxed barn celebration, or something quieter close to the water. Wherever it lands, the way we film adapts to the day rather than the other way round.

Country House & Estate Wedding Venues in Essex

For classic elegance, sweeping rooms and grounds with some history behind them, these are the Essex estates we have filmed at: Gosfield Hall in Halstead, Leez Priory near Great Leighs, Braxted Park at Great Braxted, Parklands Quendon Hall near Saffron Walden, Orsett Hall in Grays, and Mulberry House at White Roding.

Barn & Rustic Wedding Venues in Essex

Relaxed, characterful and built for celebrations that flow naturally from ceremony to dance floor. In Essex that means Gaynes Park in Epping, The Great Lodge in Braintree, The Reid Rooms at Margaret Roding, and Vaulty Manor out towards Maldon.

If your venue is not on either list it is not a problem. We film at new venues constantly and we always research the site properly before the day.

Real Essex weddings on film

Photographs show how a venue looks, but film reveals how it feels when the day is actually moving. The sound of the room, the pace of the speeches, the bit where everyone finally relaxes.

Every film below was made by us, at the Essex venue named on it. Nothing here is stock and nothing is borrowed from another county.

Micha and Ryan’s wedding at Gosfield Hall brought together two very different kinds of emotion: the quiet, tearful reveal with Micha’s dad and bridesmaids, then the high-energy celebration that followed. With confetti outside, cocktails flowing, live saxophone on the dance floor and a room ready to party, it was an Essex wedding that never sat still for long. The Morning […]

After Brydee and Grace’s weddings over the years, Alice & Chay’s day felt like completing a story we’ve been lucky enough to film from chapter to chapter. The final Allen wedding at Braxted Park – and what a finale it turned out to be. A celebration full of laughs, live music, loud applause, heartfelt speeches and a room that just […]

A live saxophone during reception drinks gave Sophie and Jonathan’s April celebration its own character early on. Everything took place at Braxted Park in Witham, with the preparations, ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party all centred on the estate. For a spring wedding, the day had a clear shape for the film: morning prep, a 2pm ceremony, speeches after dinner […]

There was a calm autumn feel to Katie and Charlie’s September celebration, with the day moving between family homes, church, and the grounds of Mulberry House. Mulberry House gave the reception a settled country-house backdrop after the ceremony in Romford, and the film had plenty of small changes of scene to carry the story along. Morning Katie got ready at […]

Charlotte and Luke’s spring wedding carried a clear family focus, with Orsett Hall at the centre of the morning plans and the evening reception. Their May 2018 day moved between preparations, a 1pm ceremony in Hutton, speeches around the meal, and dancing back at Orsett Hall. Morning The morning began with Luke at Orsett Hall before filming moved on to […]

Parklands Quendon Hall brought a grand country-house feel to this September 2017 wedding, with the celebrations kept in one place for the ceremony, meal and evening. Lianne and Tylon’s film picked up in the early afternoon, catching the final build towards the 2pm ceremony and carrying through into the first dance. Morning This was a venue-led wedding rather than a […]

Leez Priory gave this August wedding its own sense of place, with the preparations, ceremony and celebrations all held within the estate. Claire and Chris kept the day centred around the venue, which gave their film a clear, relaxed flow as everyone moved from the bridal suite to the ceremony and then into the reception. Morning By early afternoon, preparations […]

Gaynes Park gave Rachel and Lee’s August wedding a clear sense of place, with the Orangery for the ceremony and the Mill Barn ready for the celebrations afterwards. It was a summer wedding with the day moving through distinct parts of the venue, from preparations at Honeymoon Cottage to the ceremony, meal, speeches and evening party. Morning Rachel’s preparations began […]

The film for Sorina and Chirag focused on movement, family, and the shift between two parts of the celebration. Their summer wedding at Mulberry House began with a calm build-up at home, carried through the ceremony and afternoon drinks in High Ongar, then moved on to the VIP Lounge for the evening celebration. Morning Sorina and Chirag got ready in […]

Vaulty Manor kept everything close together that August afternoon, with prep, ceremony and reception all happening in one place. Susie and Paul’s summer wedding in 2016 had a calm, practical flow to it, the kind of day where the venue became the backdrop for every part of the story. Morning The morning began at Vaulty Manor, with bridal prep underway […]

A Del Boy lookalike interrupting the bride’s father’s speech gave Lucy and Lee’s wedding breakfast the kind of moment nobody had to force. Their June 2016 wedding at The Reid Rooms had plenty of those details, from preparations on site to a packed evening with dancing, cake and a disco dome bouncy castle. Morning Lucy got ready at The Reid […]

Essex Wedding Videography FAQs

The questions Essex couples ask us most.

1Do you cover the whole of Essex?

Yes, county-wide, from the London border through to the coast. We have filmed from Gaynes Park in Epping across to Vaulty Manor near Maldon, and plenty in between.

2Is there an extra charge for travelling to Essex?

No. Essex is one of our standard coverage areas alongside Kent and London, and it is priced exactly the same way. You can see the packages on our wedding prices page.

3Have you filmed at our venue before?

Quite possibly. Essex venues we have worked at include Gosfield Hall, Leez Priory, Gaynes Park, Braxted Park, Orsett Hall, Parklands Quendon Hall, Mulberry House, The Great Lodge, The Reid Rooms and Vaulty Manor.

If yours is somewhere new to us, we research it properly beforehand and arrive early enough to walk the space and plan around the light and the layout.

4How many of you attend?

A two-person team as standard: a lead videographer and a second camera operator. We stay out of the way, and we do not direct your day or ask you to repeat moments for the camera.

5Do you film the ceremony with proper audio?

Yes. We capture the ceremony with full natural audio, so your vows, readings and speeches sound the way they did on the day rather than like distant room noise.

6Can you fly a drone at our venue?

Usually, where the venue permits it and the airspace and weather allow. We check the restrictions for your specific site in advance rather than turning up and hoping.

7How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book somewhere between twelve and eighteen months ahead, and peak-season Saturdays go first. That said, we do take shorter-notice bookings whenever the date is free, so it is always worth asking.

If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch – we’re always happy to help.
